 I am a textured hair care specialist, Salon owner and educator based in Atlanta Georgia. At the age of 10, my grandmother Betty Jo purchased my very first blow dryer with attachments. My mother never let my sister and I get relaxers, hence the ‘texture specialist;” I had no choice but to be. I’ve had my hands in my hair and trusted with the haircare of many others from a very young age. It was definitely a passion of mine. Who knew that God turns passions into careers.

 After Graduating from Georgia Southern, where I earned my Bachelor’s in Marketing I then moved to New York. I worked in Fashion PR for 2 years, before heading to the Aveda Institute in Manhattan. Lets just say those days were some of the best days of my life. I was a “Natural” at it. However, what I didn’t realize was that this career path brought out something that I’ve been doing naturally all my life, which was the gift of being able to connect with people so easily. I have used my career path to uplift, empower and rebuild the female community. Finding my purpose in life has by far been the greatest reward. Hair styling has just been my vehicle to fulfill my purpose. 

I opened my salon in Atlanta, Ga in 2018, Silk Bar Hair Studio. To be able to create a space for quality stylist and for women to be comfortable in a safe environment was my goal. I not only want them to leave feeling beautiful, but be strong enough to be their best selves, which in turn makes them better for the world around them.
